The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim got their start as an American League expansion team in 1961. They shared their first few seasons with the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, before moving to their current home in Anaheim.
The Angels initially had trouble finding their stride, an issue that began to fade when legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan joined the team. Ryan led the Angels to the American League title, the first of five for the team as of 2006. Thanks to the wildcard berth in 2002, the Angels managed to advance to the World Series, where the defeated the San Francisco Giants in the highest-scoring World Series in history.

The Anaheim Ducks are a relatively young hockey team, having formed in 1993. Owned by Disney, the team was given the name The Mighty Ducks, after the movie of the same name. The Ducks quickly became a popular team, in part due to the signing of rookie Paul Kariya, who would lead the team to the Stanley Cup playoffs 4 times, including an appearance in the finals, where they missed the cup by one game.
Disney has since sold the team, which has seen it's name shortened to the Anaheim Ducks. Kariya has left the team, but future playoff appearances remain possible under Rob Niedermayer and Teemu Selänne.
